I received an email On September 18th that registration is now open to the public.

This is a unique opportunity to reconnect with the railroad, which has been such a big part of your life and which you helped build up to be the nation’s premier commuter-rail service that we are today. You’ll see first-hand how Harmon Shops has grown and evolved. For over a century, Harmon Yard has been the heart of our operations, and now, with the opening of the new 400,000-square-foot Harmon Shop, we’re carrying that legacy forward into the future. This state-of-the-art facility is the culmination of 23 years of planning, design, and construction, equipped with the latest technology to ensure safety, efficiency, and employee comfort for years to come.

Bring your family and take a trip down memory lane while experiencing the future of the railroad. See the locomotives wrapped in the historic paint schemes of our predecessor railroads, and check out the engine that everyone’s talking about, the Employee Tribute Wrap locomotive. You might find your photo and recognize some of your coworkers on it. Tour the all-new shop facility, visit the interactive exhibits on display, and take a ride up the Hudson on a scenic fall-foliage trip as you immerse yourself in a day full of fun activities.

This free, ticketed event is open to retirees, employees, their families, and the public. As a retiree, you’re welcome to bring up to four family members. Space is limited. We’re making tickets available to retirees and employees first, so please register early to secure your spot. Tickets to the public will be made available soon, and we’re sure they’ll go fast. Tickets are required; no walk-ins will be permitted.
