Charles N. Bott
December 8, 1941 – September 7, 2026
Charles N. Bott passed quietly in sleep, surrounded by family and love at his beautiful home on Queechy Lake on September 7, 2026. He was 84 years old.
Charles, or Charlie, was born on December 8, 1941, in Peekskill, NY to Angelina Noto and Charles E. Bott. He attended Peekskill High School, graduating in 1960, and continued to Westchester Community College where he studied engineering. He married Kathy Scully on November 25th,1962 and settled in Peekskill to raise their three children. Charles started his career as a foreman at General Motors in Tarrytown but was known for his time at Metro North Railroad. Second generation railroad man, he worked for 30 years on the locomotives as an electrician. Retiring in 2007 and leaving Peekskill behind, he moved to his beautiful lake home in Canaan, NY.
Charlie was an avid outdoorsman, always on the lookout for a hawk or deer while driving along the Taconic. He tracked the wildlife around his home and befriended every dog he met. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and more recently, bowling. Charlie could fix anything and loved a good flea market, combining the two to tackle just about any repair job. Generous to a fault, he was always available to someone in need.
Charles is survived by his wife, Kathlyn Bott of Canaan, NY; his three children, Charles E. Bott of Hopewell Junction, NY, Michael Bott of Lagrangeville, NY Eileen Eckert of Lagrange, NY and his seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Samantha, and John Charles Bott; Michael Bott; and Allison, Quinn, and Cassidy Eckert.
