John R. King

John R. King, 63, of Poughkeepsie, Ny passed away suddenly at home on January 11, 2024. He was born on February 26, 1960 in Poughkeepsie, NY the son of William E. & Jeanne R. Schade King. John married Annette L. Paterson Antonucci on October 31, 2015 in Elizaville, NY. She survives at home.
He was employed by the Harmon Diesel Shop of Metro-North R.R. as an Electrician in Croton-Harmon, NY. John was a member of the Fire Brigade at the Harmon Diesel Shop. He represented Metro-North in the “Mechanics Rodeo” which he won several times.
He was an avid Pokemon Go player and also enjoyed camping, road trips and bowling. John was proud U.S.M.C. Veteran having served from 1978-82. He was an active participant in the Marine Corps. “Toys for Tots” Program.
Survivors include his step-son: David Antonucci, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; step-daughters: Anneliese Antonucci 0f Ellsworth, Maine and Erika Kalfa of Florida; Sister: Gail (John) McLain of Poughkeepsie, NY and a granddaughter: Tulip Joy Antonucci. A niece: Janet McLain and a nephew: Jon McLain, III survive.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2024 5-7:45PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Military Honors will be rendered at 7:45 PM by the Marine Corp. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
